There are so many reasons to be happy, but today I’m going to touch on my 7 favorite reasons to be happy.

1. Smiling is easy!
Being happy usually means wearing a smile on your face. Did you know smiling uses just seventeen muscles, while frowning takes forty three?
2. Be happy for today!
Be happy for today. Not everyone gets a today, so make the best of it! Like the famous quote from Bil Keane, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, which is why we call it the present.”
3. Live longer!
Happy people live longer than unhappy people. Studies have concluded that happy people can live up to seven years longer than unhappy people. Being happy releases endorphins which also lessen stress in your body.
4. Happiness is contagious!
Who wants to hang out with unhappy people? Have you ever noticed the people who are positive and up beat seem to have the most friends, most clients, and tend to be more successful. It is human nature to seek out happiness and it is also a bit contagious!
5. Happiness makes you more productive!
If you waste your energy on complaining and being unhappy, it will keep you from being a productive person! Happy people, tend to be more productive and accomplish their goals more than unhappy people.
6. Things could be worse.
Be happy about where you are in life. No matter how bad things may seem at times, if you think about it, there are always other people far worse off than you are. Things could be worse, so be happy for what you have!
7. Happiness equals personal satisfaction!
The best way to have the feeling of personal satisfaction is to be a happy person. The happy mental state releases “happy hormones” which make you feel better about yourself. The better you feel about yourself, the more satisfied and confident you will become. A positive self image is a key to success in life!
